Question Difference Between Ranger/Mazda

Hey. I'm new and thought I would post a question I have up here. I dunno if it already has been answered through previous threads, but I don't think I could stay awake long enough to look through all the threads. I have a 2003 Mazda B3000 and always wondered what the differences/similarities are between that and a Ranger. I have been told that the engines are exactly the same, but what about the exterior? I have been wanting to get a Third Brake Light Cover for my truck, but unfourtenly no one sells after market parts for my truck in specific. I have emailed various web sites asking them if their cover would fit my truck, but they all said no. At school I have parked next to various rangers and compared the TBL to mine and they looked the same, but is it? I have been tempted to go to the FORD dealership and just asking them, but haven't gotten that far yet. Thanks for any help on this subject since I am still walking around in the dark.

Welcome to FTE.
Ya, the tin & trim is where they are different.
I'd be willing to bet the TBL fixtures are bolt on swaps. Take the time to go to the local salvage yard, or call ahead to see if they have a Ranger, and get it there.

Yea, Thanks. I'll look into that sometime this weekend when I have some free time. I also had a question after Clear Corners. Could I just go to my Mazda dealership and order them through them or do I have to buy them through an independent company. My bro bought his Euro's for his Civic from the dealership or is that just for the later models since mine is still a 03'. Since I havent found any CC offered for my 03 yet, just 00-02 and under that.

I just checked at Motorhaven and they don't carry them for Mazda. Found that to be a bit surprising. Looks like you may have to get them from the dealer. Keep looking around 'cause somebody somewhere has them.

Do you or anyone else know of any reliabe sites that sells vehicle parts for the combined Ranger/Mazda? Probably more Mazda since they are a little bit different. I know of these already:

MotorHaven
Stylinconcepts
Street Smart Design

I'm not finding much out there for the Mazda Trucks. I am sure there are tons of sites that offer them, but probably not that reliable. I already had a problem with internet shopping before and don't want to re-encounter it. Thanks!

I buy mazda parts for my car at these two sites:

http://www.mazdaautopartsmall.com

http://www.masterautoparts.com

They would probably be worth checking out...they're always cheaper than the dealers anyways.

That first site, Do you have to call in to request a catalog because I dont see that they have a online store. All I see is where you can email them for pricing and also to pay, but pay for what? lol

Also, Is the Third Brake Light connection a plug in behind it or is it wiring where I would have soder?

yeah, you have to request the parts. you email for the part cost, and if you decide to order it, you go back to the second page and submit the order that way.

i don't know about the brake light connection, i've never had mine apart.

The sockets in the TBL are just like tail lights, they just twist out so it should be easy.

Are the Tail Lights the same or different from the Ranger to the Mazda? Just asking so if I purchase some Euro's for the back if I can get them for the 03 Ranger and they would fit on my 03 Mazda.

The tail lights for the mazda b-series is not the same and cannot fit. The taillights have been different from the beginning of the "Ford" Mazda b-series(1994) all the way to today.

Bleh. That sucks, buts that is alright because I am going to keep with my stock tail lights as for now. The only lighting I think I am going to change is to get Clear Corners. I seen another 03 Ranger with CC's and was going to wait by his truck till he got out of class to ask him where he got them since it looked to be the same style as my front lights (but I didnt want to seem like a stalker, lol) Does anyone know if in deed the CC's are the same or does that same rule with "The taillights have been different from the beginning of the "Ford" Mazda b-series(1994) all the way to today."? I wish I had a ranger so everything would be more easier with modding, but eh I like my mazda because you see rangers everywhere, but not mazdas (as much, lol)

Eh I just back from my local Mazda dealer and they said that they dont carry after market products for my truck and recommended that I go down to the local APC facility and volunteer my truck for their testing and hopefully I can aquired some new improvements for my vehicle.

Has anyone ever took their vehicle to any corporation so they could "test" their products on your vehicle? Thanks

Mazda B3000

If you are taller than 6ft 2, than buy the Mazda. It has more leg room than most full-size trucks.
