drivability problem please help!

alright i have an 87 bronco II , with the 2.9l and 5 spd. it is a manual shift 4x4, and has 251k on it. alright so now to my problem, at cruise, idle, and wot the engine will "load up" it is not an all the time event only happening sporadically, but beginning to happen on a more regular basis. i can depress the clutch, rev the motor and it clears out, there is some visible black smoke when this happens. now what i have done..... well thefuel pressure regulator was replaced about 1 year ago, the coil and the module were switched out. the ecu was switched out. timing was se per factory specs. tps was sweeped and cked good. o2 sensor was cked. map sensor was swapped out. so all this was done and still the symptoms remained exactly the same. hopefully one of you have experienced this problem and know where to go with it id be very thankful... im a mechanic, and several friends that are mechanics have looked at this and havent a cluewhats going on so this is a last resort.

Even though the FPR is newer I would check the fuel pressure and after running it for a few minutes, or better yet, right after it loads, up pull the vacuum line to the FPR and check for gas, gas = bad. I would also pull the codes and inspect the O2 wiring, burnt O2 wiring is common, it runs close to the exhaust.
