I've had the pleasure of working with those valves. I'll tell ya, it sure is nice to not have your hand burned by hot oil.
I have seen them on several Peterbilt's with Cat's, Cummins', and Detroit's. There doesn't seem to be any clearance issues with them.
I would probably install one on my 3.0 Ranger, and there wouldn't be a clearance issue with that either, as the drain plug points down and to the rear. The valves don't take up much room.
I Dont Off Road Really, Just Wondering About The Ocassional Testo Flare Up.... Or The Ice Heave Going Out Onto The Lake In The Winter. Also, I Dont Like Leaks...... Are These Things Prone To Leaks? And Is There A Manufacture That Is More Reputable Than The Other?
Did u say what type your truck was???
I don't think there is a clearance problem unless your oil drain is pointing straight down at the lowest point of your pan/chassis...
and as far as leakage - have not heard of any problems with the fumoto's...
Looks like a great product. I haven't changed the oil in my 6.0 PSD yet (only 500 miles), but plan on getting one so I can install it at the first oil change. The website does not list a model for the 6.0 PSD, but I hope the company will know which one I need when I call. What model do you perfer, the one with or without the nipple?
Depends on the clearances on YOUR truck and your needs...
the nipple allows you to hook up a line to drain it into your container...
that's the only difference......
but for near 4 gallons of hot oil... get a GOOD tube that won't slosh around from the HIGH pressure at first and also won't soften from the heat !!
