c6 modulator ?

c6 modulator ?
hello
i have a question the "friend" that i got my f150 from had another friend rebuild the c6 in it, he says that it was rebuilt wrong because it slips, well he never even ran a vacume hose to the modulator.. i've felt the tranny slip but when you put the truck in gear it goes right in gear. my question is how bad will a tranny slip with out the modulator even "hooked up"?
