Are the machine shops in Columbia not able to handle that work? I called 1 or 2 in Jeff City looking to rework the heads on my 239 Y-Block. They ran a price around 125 per head plus the cost of hardened seats if I remember correctly. Now as far has having the block bored, that may take some specialty shops. Never had it done, so I'm not sure.

hey 78custom sorry about this but m-tec has changed their # it is now 816-279-2555. sorry about the mix up man...as well i spoke to jerrod out there about a port job on my 390 heads all together it was around 520.00 that included cleaning the heads, an econo port (1full step up), assembling the heads(i buy the parts and pieces), as well to have the valves cut so they will seat correctly. his price chart was as follows:
cleaning heads....25.00 per head
port job.... 175.00 per head
assembling heads....25.00 per head
cutting the valves.... 4.00 per valve
just a better idea for ya on prices i hope this helps
