This has me stumped guys. Here recently my tranny seems to be acting up when acceleration is pushed to the max. It seems like it slips out of gear then slams back in. However if I hold it to the floor and ease up just a little before it shifts then it shifts normal. I have both the SCMT and the Diablo Predator and it does it with either one. I was wondering if this was something minor going wrong or a good sign to find another tranny.
Its probably getting caught between gears, and this is a lot more pronounced when you add power, with the Predator, try changing your shifts to HARD, instead of default. I had the same issue with my 99, and changing to hard shifts improved it pretty nicely.
What happens is the trans line pressure does not stay consistant, and the line pressure drops sometimes right between shifts, and can cause it to hesitate to shift, and jump in and out.
The other solution is to install a higher pressure spring valve. You can check Motorhaven, and Diablo's web site, it is called the "Power Valve"
Hope this helps, I doubt your in need of a new trans, or a rebuild
