Just installed the Airaid intake system this weekend and wanted to know if "other" airaid installers are noticing the following:
- Sound difference!
- A little better feel in power from 1500 to 2200
- A small metal virbration from the engine... airaid air dam maybe?
(only from a dead stop, lasts for about 2 to 3 seconds)
- Any increase in mpg's over time??
- Did you also install a Flowmaster??
I just put on Airaid and Flowmaster dual side exit and no engine light. I emailed Airaid regarding the engine light before purchasing and they said the cause of light coming on was not getting a proper seal. It is pretty difficult to get the intake onto the throttle body all they way as shown in instructions, but no engine light on as of yet and almost 1500 kms.
I had a vibration at first, but it was because I did not use the 4" rubber strip that came with the kit because I found the instructions did not explain very well were it was supposed to go. After contacting Airaid and told it was in step # 7 in the instructions, I placed the rubber and it seems ok now. Before the top of the Airaid box was touching the plastic and vibrating against it.
I installed mine and love the sound, have the metal vibration and I am having a aero turbine muffler installed tommorrow. Still on the first tank of gas so cant tell about the mileage, but I know it will suck, love to make the aforementioned noise too much.
ctfordguy....
Actually, my mileage has been great. I've averaged in the low 17 range but since the airaid install it's up to 19+ on HWY.... very pleased.
