Alright, so I replaced my sensor in November and my check engine light came on. I had the codes cleared the light came back on still saying my O2 sensor. I changed my plugs about a week before and had to remove a hose that leaked coolant onto the sensor. I had to remove my upper intake manifold to change the plugs. Before I waste money on another sensor or a diagnostic test is there anything I can check to be sure its my sensor b/c several things could cause it to trip and I aint in the trial and error parts kinda mood (aka broke white boy). Help me
I know all about broke
If you have an autozone store around, they will usually pull the codes for free and tell you what they mean. Good place to start and doesn't cost any money.
Well I've already been to Autozone. They told me it was the sensor turning the light on but could offer no help beyond that. My exhaust fumes are not rich and are not burning white so it's not the fuel mixture. I dont know what else could set it off. and uh.. I'm not only the president of BAWB but i'm also a client.
1998 2.5L 4 cyl- a little slow but I got a home depot intake, k & n filter, gibson exhaust, autolite plug wires. A little bit of money into it but this check engine light has got me stumped. I mean its measuring my fuel to air and just a bad sensor is all i can imagine but i dont wanna be giving bosch all my money
Most codes have more than one possible cause and you need to run the pinpoint test to determine the exact cause, do you know the code number they got? Also a vacuum leak could cause an O2 code and you did have the manifold off.
