I just had a thought, would an Electric fuel pump work on my 6.9. There's nothing wrong with the one that's on there now. But! Wouldn't the electric be better??
just so you know, it will work, that's what I have on mine, mount it as close to the fuel tank as you can, the solenoid-type work better as pusher pumps, also it makes it a little easier if you ever run it out of fuel, and when changing fuel filters
get the 5-7 lb pump, you dont want any more pressure than that.
I've seen a lot of 6.9s with electric pumps mounted on the frame. Usually right after they tried to replace the original lift pump and couldn't make it work.
better or not, that's the question.....my original lift pump is working since nine years with no complaints.
I'm going to swap the fuel pump maybe this summer too. The only reason for me to swap the pump is to have it easier to get the air out of the fuel lines as 75diesel mentioned.
Has anybody a good "how to...." for the swap? What about a adjustable fuel pressuse regulator, what parts are needed for the swap?
