Tranny Issues
Got a problem with an E4OD. O/D off light starts blinking when I tow my trailer. Only happens when in overdrive. It's been doing it off and on for a few months and is happening more frequently. Checked the codes when it first did it and got "torque converter slipping". Also seems to have a bit of a shudder between 45-50 mph. Checked the codes again this morning and got no codes. Gonna replace the torque converter next week. Hopefully there are no other problems. Other than this the trans works like it did when new. I change the fluid frequently since I started towing and the fluid always looks and smells fine, no metal pieces in the pan other than the normal grit from wear and I would bet most of the grit is from the torque converter/clutch.

possible that your FIPL switch is bad, my uncle's truck started doing the same thing and that's what fixed the blinking OD light. As for the shudder, his was doing the same thing and it was the carrier bearings in the rear end going out, only felt the shudder when the torque converter locked up.. hopefully things are better for you.

Trans Issues
I checked the FIPL. 1.38 volts at idle. 3.97 WOT. Close to where it should be. I changed my rear gears from 3.55 to 4.10. Wonder if the FIPL should be adjusted differently.
