250 Hp

Hey i know this topic has been beaten to death here, there is even a sticky on it, but just one question,im planning on putting the holley 2 barrel 500CFM w/adapter, EFI exhaust, and gutting the cats. will i have reached 250 HP? if not how much will i have? O i have an 1984 f150 if that helps.

That might get you to 150 hp, 250 hp will require some effort. Ported head, new intake, cam, etc.

dang i was told stock was at 175 HP.....

I believe that the 300-6 had 145HP stock and *supposedly* 260TQ, though the torque is debatably lower then true.

Pulling the cats and dropping in straight(down)pipes in their place will net you about 15-20HP EFI Manifold...I can't see a manifold, regardless of Carb/EFI, giving you much of a boost. Carb..say another 10-15HP. You *might* be up to about 175HP...just depends.

EDIT: You're running a Carb'd version...which had even less HP stock then the EFI, duh. I can't say how much HP the Carbd ones had.

The carbed 300's were about 125 hp @ 3000 or so, with ~250 ft/lbs of torque @ 1400.

Sorry but my 1984 spec book says 120 Hp @ 3200 Rpm & 245 Ft lbs Torque @1600 Rpm 84-F150 automatic trans.
