Adding seats in E250 Cargo Van?
I'm new to this site, please excuse me if this is a dumb posting.
Just had a baby, but love my 2002 E-250 Cargo van.
Need to add at least one more seat in back for the baby seat, what is the cheapest safe way to do it?
I went to the junk yard yesterday, but the base plates I found were four bolt style, the floor of my van has bolt holes very far apart.
I am wondering if more holes will need to be drilled, and if so, how much reinforcement should go in.
Is there someone near Boston who can do this for me??
Thanks,
jameyclarke

you say the floor of your van has bolt holes? are they threaded? what do you mean by 4 bolt style? i added a 3 person ford OEM seat in the back of my '99 E150 clubwagon making it go from an 8 to 11 passenger. i did not have the luxury of bolt holes but the steel floor was flat where the factory brackets were supposed to go. i needed my seat installed in a hurry so i had a local welder weld the brackets to the floor. i will add the bolts later, but in the mean time, it holds very well. i think welding is sufficient. if i got into a wreck so bad that the welds did not hold, i think i would have other things to worry about. IMHO.
good luck and congrats on the kid
