76 Hiboy

Have a chance to get a 1976 hiboy from local fire department. It has 54,000 original mile and looks very nice. Has new clutch. Was wondering what I should be on the look out for? Have 77 and 78 F150 4x4's also a 79 F250 4x4. But have never dealt with a Hiboy. Also what is a 79 snowfighters package? thanks for all the great information on the forum!

Welcome back to FTE!

See if you can find out why the FD is letting it go. Otherwise most FD trucks are maintained VERY well. Grab the truck!!!

watch out for rust in the firewall, and the rear springs should be checked from haulin around whatever. i bought a brush truck awhile ago and im still workin on it. the township that owned it was pretty low budget. runs like a champ though. i think i would take it
