I am curious about something. Will the car bellhousing fit on a F-100 truck or is there some reason why it will not. I see them all of the time but I also not that the truck bell housing is different. How so. Ed
Fit YES, function NO. The car engine uses side mounts to the frame and a tranny mount X member.
The truck supports the engine from the front and the ears on the bellhousing supports the tranny; no ears on the car bell.
Now, if you adapt to a different tranny and dont mind building a mount you just might be able to get away with it. However it wont be easy to do tranny or clutch service.
Thanks. That is exactly what I needed to know. NOw I konw why the T5 conversion has to be done with the truck bellhousing and why the price difference. Ed
