Working from home?
I have seen a couple of guys here in Pueblo that have started mobile auto detailing operations. They come to you, at work, or at home. Both seem to be doing well enough. Maybe not getting rich, but keeping busy.
Another idea, one which I am my family are involved in is a franchised route distributorship, where we have a van going business to business selling high quality candy, nuts, dried fruit, mostly in 1lb. packages. We sell to the employees, not to the business for resale. This is NOT a get rich quick scheme by any means. It does take a lot of time and effort. We have one of these distributorship's, as well as 2 stores now. It does require some investment. If your interested, e-mail me and I'll give you the web address of the parent company which does contain a lot of information on both the products and becoming a distributor. This is a family owned and operated business, based in Colorado, now entering it's 28th year. To give you an idea of the size of this company, there are distributors in 39 states, and 27 retail stores in 8 states.
Good Luck with your endeavors!

My point is that there may be an opportunity in a handyman type thing. I know i'd love to find someone trustworthy to help out, and I wouldnt mind paying a fair price for the help. I have several friends in my situation that would also be glad to know of someone they could trust enough to have in their homes to help with some of these types of things. I hesitate to just call someone up out of the phone book to do these things simply because I don't want to advertise that I live alone w/ just a couple of little kids. That may sound paranoid, but hey, just read the paper and the paranoia can easily be justified.
