Question MotorKote engine treatment

A distributor for MotorKote drove by my house and saw my new truck and stopped and wants to give me a free sample of his product as part of a testing where he's going to come back in a while for my view on its performance in my truck. Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, with this product? Thanks for any input.

While I don't have any technical data on it, it sounds like a chlorinated EPA. Per their website, one additive for the engine, transmission (standard or auto), power steering, and differential ain't gonna happen and be good. I wouldn't let the guy see my motor let alone put some "magic" crap in it.

I agree. I'd say, "Thanks but no thanks."

I wouldn't put that stuff in my Ranger with 98kmiles on it, let alone my F150 with 2000.

How would he "measure the performance" anyway? Ask to test drive your truck?! No way!!!

Well he said he would come back and ask me if my gas mileage and performance has improved. Seems like kind of an ambiguous test. I think I will pass on his offer. Thanks for the posts.

Thumbs up Motorkote

It is really funny that I found this discussion on Motorkote today. I was driving thinking I havent seen this product for sale in the truck stops. Then just today at a Flying J in Peculiar, MO I found it!! And I purchased the fuel conditioner. I will tell you I have seen this product demonstrated (oil additive) and have used it. It DOES work. It improves fuel mileage and engine efficiency. You will notice the difference. I would recommend it to anyone for any vehicle. Oh, I am a truck driver and have used Motorkote in my Freightliner and my personal vehicles as well. You will see positive results!!

motorkote rocks!
i have just put the second treatment into my cummins n-14 in the kenworth.
i would have to say almost a FULL MPG GAIN in the KW. that is tremendous in this biz.
the motor is smoother, quieter, cooler i think. and all the truckers who have used it are saying the same thing----i cant wait to put some of this stuff in the SD.
it is supposed to be a full synthetic blend of some sort.

well i have 30,000 miles of testiment. not scientific by any means...BUT,
this truck has gotten 6.20 mpg for 6 years since we first bought it.
i'm up over 7 now for three months running. it has 1,275,000 miles on it....i have seen no ill effects. oil seems to stay clean. oil use is down.
believe me...it took a long time for me to decide to put it in. this truck is my life.
cant afford 9000.00 engine rebuilds all that often.
the only ones saying bad stuff about it are those who haven't tried it......
i aint tryin to sell the stuff, just telling what i've experianced.
this is a pretty good testing ground out here.......we average 15,000 miles a month (lazy team). if we were working hard it would be more like 20,000 per month.

Diesels start getting optimal mileage after 15000-20000 miles on them after a short rebuild. (Pistons, Rings, Bearings) I'm NOT knocking you, but I've been rebuilding Cummins, Detroit Diesel and Cat's (Good money, just got tired of the 30 mile one-way trip to work every day) since I was 18. I'm 42 now. 7MPG is actually pretty good for a million mile truck!! Congrats!!

I knew what you meant...Good miles. Is it a Cummins? Cat used to make an engine for those back in the late 70's, and started again back in 96 I believe.
