FORD vs DODGE
Dodge does have ford when it comes to ride though the fourlink coil suspension is excellent if they could just find the time to re-engineer thier steering geometry it would be even better.
I dont like dodge eletronics nor do i like ordering parts from dodge. They are a nightmare when they develop a hickup, i also hate the cummins when it is married to an auto where as ford has thier stuff together with the operational rpms of the PSD and the auto combo. Might i mention Each manufacturer has thier flaws. But the PSD right now is a much more driver friendly motor, offering a broader range of operating rpms, decent trannys and t-cases. Honestly i like the New Venture cast iron trnny more than an aluminium ZF, the difference in ease of maintenance and disassembly plus the difference in bearing sizes. I really wish that the ZF 6 speed had been aluminium and used gear lube, because the guts are and the design from gears to syncros and the shift pattern are impressive. I also am antiquated though because i preffer a gear drive t-case over a chain drive. Dodge uses a larger output shaft from the tranny to the t-case when is stronger than the one ford uses. The dodge when properly married to the right gears and tire size gets pretty good mileage as does the PSD. Ford uses the same cummins in thier f-650's+. I dont know if this helps your effort at all but ford does have quite a few plus's over mopus, in terms of comfort and engineering but it all matters on what hes looking for.
