I need any and all help with desiding on replacement wheels for my 96 XLT. I have the factory steel wheels on it now but the Michigan winters have taken there toll. I would like to go with Aluminum polished of satin type of finish, and stay away from chromed rims at all cost any answers?
Definitely go with the Ford aluminum wheels--thats what I have on my '96XL. It came with the "Argent" steel wheels which are looking pretty bad right now( rusty & flaking paint). I picked up a set of aluminum with the 31x10.5 tires on 'em and they are much better! Unless you are going higher and bigger!
I bought a set of (5) used MT classics 10" and 32 x 11.50 in near perfect shape. $700.00. I love 'em! The factory 94-96 looks awesome too. The guys that take care of em seem to have zero problems with durability, depending on climate. Up North you may have clean 'em a little more. Darn salt! Good luck.
