Well last night had to make a fast run in to town. Going up a good long hill I got on my 90 real hard, next thing I know the pedal is to the wood. Well I tap it with my toe, nothing. Next I hit the brakes, nothing. I stand on the brakes well LOL that did not work. Still was gaining by the top of the hill. Started to punch the cruise off button. Well by this time she was hitting 80. So I reach down and give the damn thing a yank. Up it comes, but as soon as I let it go down it goes. Another yank and it stays up and idles down. What a ride. Could this been something to do with the cruise which was not on at the time? It also done it today with the trans not in overdrive pulling a baler down the road. But this time it just started to go down with out pushing it and poped back up after I tapped it.

You might disconnect the CC cable and see if it still does it but I think the governer has taken matters unto itself and you need a new injection pump.
i agree with FSC,disconnect the throttle cable and see if it moves freely.check the spring on the end of the cable also.had a simelar prob on my 92,at the end of the cable there is a spring with a plastic sleeve under it,well the plastic was broke and when you really got on her the cable would kink and be stuck at wide open.i feel for ya man cause it scares the crap out of ya!a cable is only about twenty bucks i think.but it could a internal pump prob also, lets hope for the cable.
had the same problem. turned out to be the edge of the floormat binding up between the carpet and the pedal. would only do it once in a while, but I don't think that is your problem.
