I have an Ididit steering column, polished it myself, looks amazing Up here in Canada, we have rust I've noticed on the column a few parts have little rust spots showing...is this from scrapping the column from install or what What is a good polish to use with this column? I just used sandpaper and did it by hand, and then used that Mothers Aluminum & Mag polish on it, the only stuff I had available....
try using stainless steel cleaner (for stainless fridges/stoves). I've never tried it. I have also heard that coke (not Pepsi) and crumpled up aluminum foil, will remove surface rust.
On further thought, what about WD-40? As a follow-up, what about waxing the column after cleaning?
Those sound like weekly things I'd have to keep doing so it stays looking top notch. I'm looking for more of a permanent thing, maybe have to do something to it monthly.
