power lock actuator replacement

I just bought a '91 F150 and I'm trying to remove the lock actuator. It is the type which is riveted to the door. It's very hard to see what is going on inside the door. Anybody have any tips for removing these?

Best way that I can think of is to drill out the old rivets.

Just remember how everything is placed & positioned. It should be a breezr when you have the old rivets removed.

Yup,take a small punch and drive the steel pin out of the rivet,then drill out the rivet.

Also take the 3 screws out for the latch, and unhook the cable and rod that come from the door handles and bring the latch out with the actuator.
