Installed the 1715 Superchips tuner on my V10. I have only tried it on the 87 octane setting, but WOW, did it liven the truck up. The tranny feels so much better, and the truck is responding smoother. Can't wait to try the highest setting (performance). I am very impressed and wish I had installed the program sooner. I am glad I found this forum. Without it you other guys given awesome feedback and help, I would never of bought any upgrades.
Your hooked! theirs no turning back now.Wait till you try the peformance setting, you will be a performance junkie!Make sure you are using 91 octane or higher when you switch.Dont be tempted to try it with reg gas.
V10KLZZ71S, is there any problem with running the performance option constantly? I do not want to harm the tranny or motor. The V10 is a power house after the tuner. What other upgrades go well with what I have so far (Exhaust, Air Intake, and now tuner)? Thanks.
My tuner is not as new as yours but I leave it set at the performance settings constantly, using premium everytime. It is such a big difference that i cant go back to the stock settings.I also have my shift pressure at max, I am bit of an extremist but have had no problems with the transmission in almost 2 yrs with the tuner. You might want to set yours about 3/4 max and run it.On your truck i would leave shift points at superchips setting. The next best thing to do would be some exhaust mods. The bottleneck is the stock manifolds, the y-pipe,and to a lesser extent the muffler and cat.You could get a set of JBA stainless shorty headers, which will bolt up to your stock exhaust. Then i would go to your local muffler shop and have a new y-pipe fabbed.Add a Magnaflow 3" muffler to replace the stock muffler and you will be very pleased. Also remove the little snorkle thing on front of the airbox,[take note of the small opening] cut a few inches off the front of the air filter housing[makes the opening bigger] This little mod is something you can feel.See i told you were hooked!
Made it worst since I drive it like I stole it now
Just Kidding. I have not gone through a full tank yet, and I am still on the 87 octane setting. I am down to half a tank, but nothing seems abnormal. Still around 12-14 MPG it seems. I also have 3.73 gears. I have heard the peformance options with 91+ octane runs about 1-3 more MPG for the truck which is nice. But on the bright side the MPG's have not gone down, plus it feels so much more capable now when shifting, and towing.
Joey, you must be staying off Rt.5 with mileage like that. Bring her on up to Waldorf we'll show ya' what bad mileage and road rage is all about. '04 V10 chipped w/3.73 auto, I get 9-10 mpg, but my right foot is twice the size of my left one. Ha! Ha!
Glad to have another new Ford man in So. Md.
Waldorf, where is that I barely leave St. Mary's! I am sure my daily comute would be down to atleast 9. Considering I hate traffic, and every time I venture to Waldorf, I am ready to run people over Like wise on the So. MD. thing. Glad there are a few more people then myself on the internet down here.
Joey, Thanks for the comments. I have two Ford V10's and was looking into increasing the power without harming the highway fuel milage too terribly. Where did you get your Superchip and what was the cost, if you don't mind me asking? Is there any special thing i need to do to install (ie. computer settings, special tools to install).

I got mine off the internet, that was before I knew someone on the forum is a distributer of SuperChips products (Motorhaven) He will be able to hook you up with the tuner. No tools required, just make sure you pull your Fuel Pump fuse in the fuse panel of the engine compartment, and follow the instructions. I will email you with some detailed info.

I emailed him the info on where I purchased mine. Last time I posted it, the thread was deleted since it was not following posting rules. I do not want to step on anyones toes.
So in other words, you're being sneaky, using my site to promote my competitors? With friends like that, who needs enemies.
I was under the impression we all support this site. I will be more than happy to donate some funds in addition to being an Club FTE member if that is the case here. You have a great site here we all agree on that, but when someone asks me where I buy something from, I will give him an honest answer and my reason. It is not hard to go out to the internet and do searches for the products of the potential buyers interest. I see nothing wrong with that. Plus I kept it out of the thread. Not everyone who uses this site, has to buy from you. I have no idea why you seem to be jumping down my throat.
