Waitin on the UPS man.
Just bought a K&N FIPK GEN2, and an Accel TFI coil, and at the same time these go on, im scraping the factory exhaust system for shorty headers, a 3in in/out cat, with a 3in in/out 50 Series Flowmaster DeltaFlow (which are also in the mail), and a 3in tailpipe. I cant wait!
What kind of horsepower, and gas mileage improvement should i expect?
my first impressions...
-i put the FIPK2 on just before my trip to the exh. shop (easy install) i want to saythere was a noticible improvement, but just barely. it sounded really cool... and only when you had your foot in it... when the exh went on, i really couldnt hear it any more
-i thought a 50 series DF would be quiet, its a little too loud for my taste, i have to be easy on it through the neighborhood, cause im afraid if im not ill up set the neighbors, and it resonates a bit inside even wih the windows up. (just enough to kinda make your head ring)
-at WOT it sounds awesome... at any given throttle it has a smooth deep healthy sound, when you get on it the best sounds scream.
-as for as the powergain goes, the low end is slightly improved, and from about 2800rpm till the 4600 shift point it pulls significantly better than it used to (the perfect spot for pulling a trailer at highway speeds)
if i were to do it again...
id probably just drill a couple holes on the fender side of the intake box (un filtered side of course) and throw in a K&N stock replacement. the exhaust is deffinately worth the money... i would like something a little quieter though
