PSD OIL LEAK!

It is normal as long as your engine doesn't have excessive oil consumption. (It must be a common problem or Racor wouldn't be trying to sell catch tanks.) One guy posting on this list claimed he gained 12 H/P at the rear wheels by using a catch tank. His theory was that the oil in the intercooler was detrimental to the intercooler's effeciency. I can't really say one way or the other but an oily intercooler is an unnecessary mess.

PSD OIL LEAK!

I am not experiencing any abnormal oil consumption,,,,,,about 1.5 qts between changes.
The Diesel Dude, where can I find that Racor catch tank. I did a search for it and could not find it. Do you have that link? I tried e-mailing you, but I am not sure you received it. Please let me know if you have the link......Thanks...

PSD OIL LEAK!

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 14-Nov-02 AT 12:59 PM (EST)]Just something also, I spilt a bit of oil while filling it once. It runs down the filler, along the top of the valve cover, down the back, runs down the exhaust manifold and onto the starter. So mine was coming from there and I was trying to find it in the galley but it was dry. Then I found out I was sloppy. Just something else to look at

I thought the same thing, also. I went ahead and cleaned the engine just to make sure though before going further. But this HAS happened to me in the past. So, I guess I'm not the only one who gets a little sloppy.
