changing 02 sensor

today I am going to change my plugs,wires,02sensor and fuel filter on my 92 ranger 2.3 I was told i should disconnect the battery when done to reset the computer. once this is done and i start the truck for the first time do i need to let it idle for a short time or do i need to do anything special at all with regards to driving style so the computer can get "set up" properly?

I would let it warm up, then turn the AC on for a few minutes and then drive it around some side streets, and a constant speed on the highway and a few WOT.
