Well i finally got everything cleaned up and bored the block, should have all of the parts tomorrow so I can finish hone
Just a bit of a "stock plus" build. It's a +.060 300 with a 260* cam with completely flat top pistons (equivalent to a .020 shave). It's going together with stock exhaust and a 1bbl until i can afford EFI manifolds and a 4bbl intake. Shooting for 180 hp and 300 lbs torque when i'm done, hopefully with improved mileage (and more after the intake/exhaust work). I might dyno it when i'm done, but if seat of the pants makes me happy, i'll be satisfied.
I have a feeling it will since my current motor is a stock 300 with 334,000 or so miles that holds right at 90psi compression. Going up a hill on the highway is interesting to say the least
Sounds like a good build. I hear ya on the high milage. My 300 in the 82 is really tired. I starts up and runs, but has no power when taking off. Once you get going its ok. It makes alot of noises too. Fred
