Ordering Problem,,please help
First I have to say thank you to all of you who are involved in this site, it has been a huge help in our quest for a new F150. My question is that we ordered our 2004 F150 FX4 on March 24th. We called the dealership yesterday to check on the status and were told to call back today. When we called, they said that the truck will begin building in the second week of May and will be ready at the end of June!!!! Thats 3 1/2 months!! Everyone else is getting their vehicles in 6-8 weeks (like they told us). I dont know what to do. I have read about the VOC, which we did not get when we ordered the truck, and the DORA (what is that) on this site. We are very upset and need advice. Did they forget to order the truck? I asked them what the priority number was and they said 40...what does this mean? I want to call them again tomorrow but I dont know what to say.

hopefully you will get a replay from a mark1965, knows a great deal and will help anyway he can. also is employed at a dealer in ny, and they have great deals.

D&L...go get your deposit...if you gave them one and find another dealer. Man o man why do they yank people around like that. 6-8 weeks is average....you are way outside the window. My order went up on the 17th and it's at the ramp right now...picking it up Friday morning. The last one I ordered took exactly 29 days. Go smack that guy upside his head!

I honestly thing there's some kinda shady stuff going on with some of these dealers...like they are holding deals for some reason. Unless the dealer is VERY small and dosn't do any volume at all, there's no way in IMO that you should have to wait that long.

The "priority 40" could be your problem. My dealer sent my order in with a 40 also, and after 3 weeks Ford still has not picked it up. I "asked" them to give it a 10 this week, so we'll see.

Talked to them today. Pretended to be experts on the subject of ordering from all of the info on this site and guess what....All of a sudden the build date is now scheduled for 4/26 (instead of 2nd week in May) and it should be done 5/5 and picked up no later then 5/10. That will be just under 8 weeks. We will see what happens. You just cannot trust anyone!

Lookin- It is really nice...especially after driving my old Cheby for 19yrs...poor baby was good to me. Bad part is that I got the call today and I'm shipping out next week for a month or so 
...Got 4 days to play with her then she'll be all alone....

I feel for ya, man. Pics would be great-If you don't mind me asking- are you military? Or do you travel for work?
