Any of you guys running a supercharger and using your rig for towing. I have a 97 EB Expy w/5.4, 3" flowmaster, K&N, 100,000 miles (runs great and uses no oil). I pull a toy hauler that weighs aprox 6500 lbs fully loaded and I'm looking at a little more pulling performance.
I carefully considered that route and decided that it's less money, less maintenance, and more reliability to get a set of lower diff gears, say 4.10 or 4.3 instead of dealing with the blown air equipment. Compare $1k to $4K right off the bat.
I was curious about a supercharger myself. I re-geared my Expy with 4.10's, while running 285\75\16's, and am pretty happy so far. I almost went with 4.30's so I could tow a travel trailer comfortably. My gear guy advised me otherwise. Good call! The 4.10's helped alot, but I still would like more grunt and overall power...By the way 4.10's w/285's equal about a 3.70 gear ratio.
i had a kenne bell on my 98 navigator and never had any issues what so ever power was great especially on the low end. I am actually trying to sell the kenne bell i have since put in a lightning motor to the navigator.
i am asking $1500.00 for it. there is less than 6 months on it it is a kenne bell charger i have 30lb injectors with it and it will give you around 7-8 psi. yes i did the motor swap with a buddy of mine that is a ford mechanic what a pain in the butt that was with all the wiring changes. you guys can email me at greg@pdqperformance.com
