360/390 question

i was just wondering.....could i slap on a set of 390 heads on my 360? and if so what would be the pros and cons?....any info is much appreciated...thanks in advance

The answer is yes, they bolt right on. But unless you have a pretty special 390 head there is no difference. 360 head = 390 head. Which makes it not worth the effort.

well the purpose to the question is that i have dibs on a complete 390 that ran but that was over 3 years ago when the truck was parked and instead of pulling the 390 and rebuilding it then takeing the time to drop it in the new ride i have complete control over raping the motor for any parts nessisary so i was thinking pull the heads clean them up new valve springs lock retainers and all that good stuff plus a port job then instead of having the truck down for a week or more wainting on head work have the heads done and spend a few hours throwing them on as well if they ever crap out hav a back up set i could do the same thing with...i guess iam just lazy and look for easy ways around stuff but thanks for the info i think ill pull them this weekend and proceed with my plan ...once again thanks for the info
