bench to buckets
Have any of you guys replaced your bench seat with bucket seats? I was thinking of doing the conversion after a nasty rear end accident. I want to change it to protect my neck, if it should ever happen again.

I've replaced a bench with a 40/20/40 split before. Most of the time the brackets use the original holes. You can get all sorts of differant styles including high backs with head rests and all. I realy like how the center section folds down into a center console, or up so the lil darlin can ride scootched up next to me

It can be done. Usually you have to fabricate some mounts or alter the bucket mounts to match the contour of the floor. A little time and some scrap metal and it will be fine. Keep in mind that buckets in a regular cab usually mean less legroom...

Any bench seat up to '96 will bolt right in. I have a seat from a '91 XLT F150 and I love it. It's contoured like two buckets and has a flip down center armrest. Feels like buckets but will still hold 3 adults if needed. Mine cost $150 in great shape and took 20 minutes to install. Just remove old seat, swap old seat rails onto new seat and reinstall new seat - easy.
