I currently have my 95 Aerostar 3.0L in the repair shop trying to get the idle pulley's changed. The mechanic got back to me and said he can not find the pulley's to match. I even went to the Ford Dealer to get the part and the one they gave me was incorrect. Has anyone had difficulty finding idle pulley's for this vehicle> Can I get suggestions.
How about a wrecking yard. Although, they might be just as bad, or worse. I guess it cant hurt to look.
Go back to the dealer, they might have just grabbed the wrong part # off the computer.
Thanks for the reply. What the mechanic is doing now is trying to match the bearings in the pulleys. I will know in a little while if this works. I am hoping because the squeeling is driving me nuts.
I have the 4.0, I just went to NAPA and got the bearings. They're like $6 each. Use a grease needle to squeeze a little synthetic grease under the bearing seal, there's not much grease in them when you buy them.
