Electrical question from a newbie

Did the 56 F100 have a 6 volt or 12 volt system from the factory? Can anyone recommend a site or book that would have the specs for 56 F100's?

1956 was the first year for 12 volts. They had a generator. You should purchase a 56 shop manual. Try the red "Parts Shop" in the upper right corner of this page.

The shop manual is a nice tool. Here's a wiring diagram until you get yours!
