Welp, on the way home from work last night I tried to isolate the source of my windshield leak. Turned off the radio and reached the areas I could reach. Lo and behold 4 inches down on the left side of the windshield a round large rubber seal was sticking out!!! Obviously they did not install the windshield properly. At home I checked the entire windshield and that was the only spot where the seal was not seated correctly. I'm not sure if this is the source of my "hiss" noise, but this could cause problems down the line. I'm booked up this week, but I'm calling my dealer for an appointment next week to reseat this windshield. We'll see how good their "bumper to bumper" warrantly take care of me attitude pans out. I'll report the results.
Let us know how it turns out. I think I've got the same problem, but my service advisor rode with me the other day and said everything sounded normal. Does your wind noise only seem to be present at ~ 50MPH plus, and maybe coming from the center/right side of the cab? I might have been "feeling" things but I promise the other morning as I was driving to school I felt a slight draft coming from the windshild area with nothing on (a/c, heat, deforst) and windows up.
My wind noise starts at around 55mph and up center of the windshield like yours. The fact that the seal is visible should help me get service. I'm sorry but at $26 thou for a new truck the windshield should have no rubber tubing sticking out from the inside. I'll tell them I hear the hissing sound and I want this windshield placed on correctly. We'll see how good their promise of bumper to bumper pans out. I'll drop an update here as soon as they fix it. I wonder if I should ask them about all the TSB that are out on this truck. Maybe they can check to be sure all those have been addressed as well.
I'm relatively new to this forum. What exactly is the "wavy" windshield? Since I'm taking it in next week, I probably better get all the windshield issues resolved at one stop. Thanks.
