Wind Noise Poll

First vibration and now wind noise all over board. Just curious if these wind noise problems are narrowed down to bug shields being installed. Personally I would hope they don't correlate. I think Ford should work on design that will handle changes in wind flow, but I'm no engineer.

I've got the Ford high profile bug shield, and I don't hear any wind noise. Even with the audiophile off (which isn't often, I'll admit).

I have a slight 'whistle' above 50, but I wouldn't call it a wind noise. You can hear it more when you put the windows down. I think it's coming from the air rushing through the groves in the outside mirrors.

FX4 Flareside built 2/04...no bug shield and no wind noise. Driven up to 90 mph with no noise, no driveline vibe, and no steering wheel nibble. I LOVE THIS TRUCK!!!!

I wonder if a high profile shield would alter the wind flow so you hear less road wind noise than normal?

I need to find some pics of the high profile shields. I don't know if mine would be considered high or low profile. I do know that for once, I have enough room to wash, wax and dry behind it, which is cool.

yes I got wind noise and road noise with no bug shield, makes the same noises as any other truck to me; but I still don't got AC. Fortunately in has only been 50 degree lately,,,and the heater works perfect. Yesterday it got up to 70, and I could tell the AC was not working. When 80 comes I will be sweatin again!

I had a bug deflector and had wind noise and wiper chatter from the wipers bouncing up and down on the glass. After removal, no noise, no wiper chatter. I also had the hood movement with bug shield on.

Gotta use that accelerator!!!

Of course there is wind noise ... I didn't know I even had a V8 until I tossed in an aftermarket air-intake, the engine is so quiet! And even now, unless I am stomping on the gas (probably happens more often or not, according to my mileage ) I hear more wind and road noise than anything else.

My thoughts exactly. I think the guys on here that aren't experiancing the wind noise have Job#1 trucks. Something was changed (be it minor and non visable) on Job#2 trucks which makes the "quiet ride" not so quiet anymore.
