search problems

search problems
i do hope i am not making a fool of myself with this......
this forum is very valuable to me. it has gotten me out of many tight spots.i do try to use the "search" function, so as not to ask stupid questions, or those that have been answered many times, but today, after not having been here in a while, i am getting results with search that i do not believe are valid.
i have, i fear, a leaky rear main seal in my 460. so i have, in this forum, scanned for rear main seal, rear seal, seal, etc, with no hits. so then i tried advanced search, with the same results. i tried caps and no caps.
then, i tried searching for words that i knew should get hits, like "lincoln". still, i would get no hits.i do get hits when i search all forums.
i tried to email the moderators, but i havent posted 15 times, so i cannot.
sorry if i'm being stupid, but i need information badly enough to risk being a dummy.

I'm here now.
You would have got a quicker reply had you posted in the FTE web site questions forum than in the tech forums.
The search feature is the first thing to go down when maintenance is being done.
The Ram used the for search feature is rep-directed to other areas of the site.
Hang in there it will return to regular users soon.
Please ask FTE Web site questions on the User Feedback & suggestions forum.
