98 Explorer - Passenger Mirror Replacement
I am trying to find documentation that will help me replace the passenger side mirror on my 98 Explorer. If anyone can direct me to a link or if the steps are easy enough let me know how it is done I would apprecieate it.

i just changed the driver's side mirror in my 96 XLT because i hit a 6 ft tumbleweed at 80 mph (it happens in Arizona) and it blew my mirror apart. I used the instructions in the Haynes Repair Manual. It costs about $15 at auto parts store and works well for minor repairs/maintence type items - i have used it for numerous small jobs.

I just replaced my 97 mirror. cheapest I could find was at rockauto.com for $70. Pull off the inside of the door, find a couple of screws, and disconnect the windows/locks/door light. If its just the mirror(glass), that is replaceable too ($15 at autozone), and glue it to the plastic backing you (might) still have. good luck.
