Lightbulb Nerf Bars?

I am going to get Nerf style (Bars) steps for Silver150 XLT Scab.
I would like suggestions, keeping in mind: Looks, Function and Price in that order.

Pictures would help too.

From all I've seen in here on this subject (and it's been mentioned many times), the consensus seems to be Westin.

Westin Products

I may even go to them myself to accent my custom wheels. Probably look better than the stock plastic black ones. I've seen these stock ones selling on eBay, so that would pay for some of the upgrade.

Here's the eBay search as well in case you use that.

I found the cheapest bars at truckaccessoryusa.net after a long online search for quality and price. I got the stainless bars; they aren't Westin, but I am very happy with them. They are thick bars and very sturdy. In fact, I high centered on them while off-roading and they didn't budge.

Silver150,

Some general thoughts on Nerf Bars. I also think that Westin is the number one product to beat. You should keep in mind that for looks, a stainless Nerf Bar will not rust but the stainless over time will change color and lose its ability to shine. A chrome finish (if kept clean and waxed) will shine forever. The platinum version with a lifetime guarantee is available. I installed a set on my F150 03 by myself and I am not that good with tools. Very easy. I bought them from accessconnect.com Free shipping and the price was competitive. Hope this helps...

From a Westin informational blurb:

"After analyzing the stainless market, Westin found that most products had a dull, yellowish tint right out of the box. Salt spray testing also revealed that unplated stainless does in fact rust. Although the rust doesn't occur in the traditional way, the finish becomes chalky and pitted. Once tarnished, the consumer can never bring it back to its original luster. In keeping with Westin tradition of industry leadership, their engineers developed the "Platinum CPS chrome plated stainless steel" Step Bar which offers the durability of stainless with the lifetime brilliance of chrome. Black powder coat over stainless steel also available."

I looked all over the place for nerf bars and finally decided on a 5" chrome oval from Ford. These are not the style that come from the factory. They turn in slightly on both ends and have a black molded CAP. They mount in two places and are pretty sturdy. Several ford dealers wanted $425 +tax. I paid 357+tax.
