Need Help, I'm stupid
ok, I need some help. I have an 1988 f-250 with stock casette player. I'm trying to wire in an old panasonic CD-Player. After taking out the old tap deck, I found 4 speaker wires, and five other wires. They are the battery, ignition, ground, instrument lighting, and main light swith. However, the wire harness on the CD player only has four wires. How can I splice in the 5 wires into 4???? or am I completely lost. I've tried to find an adapter that connects the old harness directly into the panasonic16-pin harness, but am having no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

The CD player most likely does not have the light switch. Like I said in the 87-96 forum, get a harness from and it will make things a lot easier. Don't worry if some of the wires on the factory harness are not used.
