I am looking at trading in my 2002 F-350 with a V10 towards a 2004 F-350 with the 6.0 PowerStroke tomorrow. The truck is a King Ranch model and has almost everything I want except overhead cab lights and the Auxilliary Idle Control. I've seen the cab lights and harness available for about $90 and found the install instructions. The dealer's body shop will install the lights for $300 if I don't want to do it myself.
The Idle Control unit is only about $200 to add when building a truck, but the parts department quoted $974.66 for XC3Z-12B641-AA or $827.03 for XC3Z-12B641-BA. I was told the more expensive unit has a digital display. This sounds pretty high. I tried to search some online parts houses, but couldn't match the part number or description. I was hoping to get dealer cost for it in the sale of the truck. Does anyone know what dealer cost should be for this unit?
Ordered mine with the truck, digital disply, cost=$178.00. Think they are trying to slip one by you. I can't see you having to pay over $350.00 for one, just my 2 cents.
Just keep checking the classified sections here on the FTB site. There has been a number of these $175-300 range. I picked up a new in the box digital display unit last month for $200 shipped to me from the FTB classified site.
