Oil Amount

I am new to this fourm. I just bought a 1995 F-250 with a 7.3L Power Stroke Diesel. It has 172,000 miles on her but, she runs very good. I bought a extended warrenty that covers her for 100,000 miles. Any way I had the oil changed today a I was charged for 14 quarts of Shell Rottel 15w -40. Is that the correct amount of oil that it takes? I had a company F-250 Diesel that only took 11 quarts. Thanks

The first power stroke in 1994.5 held 12 quarts and somewhere between 1994 and 1997 they switched to 14 quarts (my 1997 takes 14 quarts). All the 1999+ hold 15. I'm not sure what your truck holds but 14 sounds right.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did not think they were wrong but, I had to know. Would you know where the fuel filter is located. There is not one visable on the motor anywhere in site.

The fuel filter is located on top of the engine. It is a round bowl and has a lid on it that unscrews counter clockwise. In there you will find the filter

The writing is right on top of the lid in the picture.
