Cool help removing B2 tranny

I cannot for the life of me get the trans cooler lines off of the side of the tranny. It is an AL4D auto. Any suggestions?...

I had that problem servicing Transmissions for U-Haul and resorted to cutting the line with a hacksaw or die grinder and then repair the line with a double flareless coupling. To many pepole try to use a open ended or crescent wrench to tighten the lines in and round them off. I had to get a set of tubing crows feet ($$$$) to pull them off.

thanks for the suggestion. I had thought of cutting the lines but, was trying to avoid it if at all possible.

If the are rounding off, try one of the new wrenches that work on the flats instead of the tips. I have a set of wratchet wrenches and sockets made by Gear Wrench that I picked up at home depot. I've had success with 2 or 3 times already using them to extract rounded over stuff. They wouldn't help you much on those lines, but craftsman or a snap-on may carry something similar but that is notched on the end to slip over your line... I have a set of those for brake lines but they aren't the new style that work off the flats.

I found that if worse comes to worse, a good pair of curved jaw vice grips(not the cheap ones) works pretty good. The flat ones will round it off more, and the cheap ones flex too much and will round off the heads

I used 3/8" drive crows feet style flare wrench tip on a ratchet. It gives a direct fit without the worry of rounding the nut.Once you break them loose you can use a stubby wrench to work it all the way off. It is a very big PITA due to the clearance issue.
