i have a 2000 ford expedition with the 5.4 in it it has 47500 miles on it and it just quit running the other day on the interstate. i found that the pink and black wire running back to the fuel pump was broke and fixed it but in doing that i tested a bunch of things on it with a test light then reading a book i found out that i am not suppost to use a test light on anything with a eec. well it runs now but it runs terriable and throws these codes0743,p0755,p1747,p0443p1451,p0135,p0155p140 9. i was wondering if i screwed up the computer or if i killed all thoses senceors or if anyone has any other idea of one sencor or a plug or something to check. thanks very much for any help
It would have to be programmed for the car, with a computer. The PATS system would have to have a perameter reset. I wouldnt go jumping to conclusions on what is bad. I would take it to a competent technician and explain exactly what happened and what wiring you fixed. It may just need all codes cleared and retested for current codes. Some of those codes could be older codes set with the initial problem.
Im just curious how the one wire broke. Ive seen vehicles with rodents/squirrel damage on the harnesses. Could be you have several wires cut or burned through somewhere.
These are the only valid codes I can find from your list. Sounds like a major power fault. Did you check all the fuses in the power distribution box under the hood?
