Ok I feel really dumb asking this...but i just ordered a set of the new Rancho RSX 9000 Shocks (the self adjustable ones, not the cab adjustable ones). I have no eartly idea what im doing when it comes to suspension...can i just unbolt the ones that are on it and bolt the new ones on? its not lifted or anything, just stock height. I just didnt know if they had to be compressed or anything like that..like i said im stupid in respect to suspension, this is only the second vehicle ive ever owned and the first one ive ever modified.
Any help anyone can provide will be extremely appreciated. (this might be the wrong forum for this question, but i trust you guys here in the 6.0 Forum more than the others
PSD,
On fronts,
remove wheel,
remove top nut and pull shock off of stud, it will expand a little,
remove bottom bolt and remove shock.
place new shock in place and install bottom bolt and nut,
Spray top rubber grommet with silicone spray and push onto stud and install nut and tighten assembly.
Put wheel back on and tighten lugs in crisscross fashion and torque to specs.
on rears,
remove spare wheel(makes it much easier and leave rear wheels on. No need to jack up rear of truck)
remove bottom bolt first, then top
bolt up the bottom of new shock first,
spray top rubber grommet with silicone spray, cut strap holding shock and push onto stud as it expands(it doesn't expand that fast, don't be worried)
replace spare wheel and your done
Now go have a nice cold one
Cheers,
Bryce
