sloppy steering

Jus wondering if there is any source to get a new steering shaft and the knuckle on the gear box where the shaft connects. Both are areworn quite considerably. Also, did Ford trucks ever come factory equiped with a cb? There seems to be one built into the underside of my dash. It has the conntrols on the handle. I going to rip it out, but was curious if it was factory. Thanks

Do you have a 2wd or 4x4? The shafts are very different.

Yes there was a factory cb, and it's somewhat rare. If you do remove it - don't cut the wires. Then you can sell it or reinstall it in the future.

I believe Borgeson makes a needle bearing replacement joint for your application. The joints themselves are about $70 ea. they also make an adjustable shaft with both joints for about $250. I think the web site is www.borgeson.com. Hope that helps, nate
