The Problem is once you stick it there ist not coming off!!!
The ones they give us down here are stuck on with 2 strips of double sided tape. I just get a razor blade and cut and peel off part of the tape in the middle to reveal about a 1/2" of the sticky stuff. It holds just fine and is never hard to get back off. Be sure to clean area with glass cleaner before applying it.
The sensor is for your automatic dimming mirror feature. There's a sensor on both sides of the mirror. If the one facing the rear of the vehicle sees more light than the one looking out the windshield then the mirror will dim.
If you put some sort of sticker in front of your mirror then it may make it darker in the area of the front sensor. This may cause your mirror to dim more easily. The whole purpose is to dim if someone has bright lights behind you.
You can request an exterior tag that mounts on the front license plate. I hate the look of those tags in the front window. They usually only give them for vehicles that have windshields that obstruct the signal. Just tell them other people you know with the truck are having problems with the windshield mounted tags.
I put the fast lane pass face down in the front of the tray and I get the green light. I was not sure it would work but it did....I live in CT. but the pass is for the Mass Pike........
I had my EZ-tag in that top compartment also - until last week. I had always gone through the un-manned lanes and gotten the green light - or at least absence of the light that comes on and says "contact EZ Tag store". Unfortunately I had to go through a manned Full Service / EZ Tag booth since people wouldn't let me over to the left lanes during morning rush hour. (You know how friendly all Texans are) There is no gate arm to serve as a certain notice that your toll has registered. The guy before me paid in cash and I stayed back a little ways hoping to see a definitive green light then red light to signal his transaction was over. The light stayed green for an awful long time so I figured I must have been too close to allow the red light to come on and I just accelerated through the booth. Low and behold the attendent comes running out after me and looking at my license plate - presumably to report me for failure to pay a toll. I haven't received a bill or fine yet, but since my EZ-Tag wasn't stuck to my windshield, if the cameras took a picture of my truck there will be no visual evidence that I had an EZ Tag. Nervously I wait...
