351-r?

Hey all, I had a curiosity question I was hoping somebody could help me out with. I've recently come upon an interesting block from a friend, the manufacturing date is '95(can't remember the month), it's all aluminum w/cast iron sleeves, and according to him is meant to use a roller cam. He said it was a 351-R, and that what made it the 351-R was the cross bolted mains(all 5 of em) that are already 4 bolt mains with extensions for bolting a windage tray on the 3rd and 4th mains. If I am incorrect in any of this, I was hopin one of y'all could gimme a little info and set me straight. I'm mostly curious what I could build from it and who I could sell it to, seein as how I don't really have a vehicle for it to be used in(all FE vehicles). Much thanks y'all.

Yep that is what it is. You have a very high output motor there and its probably very expensive. Yes it does use a roller cam. Most of the original engine parts were titanium and billet. I think a crate motor was around $10000 and put out well over 400HP. If I were you I would do a search for Rousche racing(mispelled I am sure) or Mustang Saleen. I think that these used a motor called a S351R depenging on what stage of Saleen you got. Frankly give me a SS Z28 and a grand and I stomped the living hell out of the Mighty Saleen and enjoyed doing it. For 20K less then thier cars. Anyway that is what you have and what you need to look at. Ed
