alternator upgrade
back in the day when i restored my lincoln i upgraded the alternator with a kit i got from summit racing to a 130 amp alternator. now i want to do the same thing with my newer truck (95) and i can't find a kit to do so. Anyone upgraded their alternator?

I used to have a smaller 95 amp alternator in my 96 300 I6 4x4 but upgraded to a bigger brand new 130 amp alternator (OE replacement part) from Pep Boys (California). But the 300 I6 has two sets of alternator mounting holes, and I mounted the bigger alternator on the second set of mount using the same bolts plus I installed a new serpentine belt (dayco poly cog) that is 1 inch longer than stock. It is a very easy install in my case. I am not familiar with your engine configuration though.

I also purchased one from Pep Boys and had a choice of 95 or 130 amp. It's a direct replacement for the 95amp altenator and offered as an option from Ford. No changes to mounting or belts was needed. Cost was around $175 new and $140 rebuilt.
