I have 400 miles on my new truck and I have a trans problem already. From Park to rev or drive it hesitates about 5 sec. befor shifiting into gear? Any body else have this problem ? Just wondering befor i take it in.
Do you rev up and then it jumps into gear or does it seem like you hit the accelerator and it takes a few seconds for it to rev up and move? Does it do it hot or just when it is cold? Check your fluid level?
It does it hot or cold. Ans when it first happend i rev'd the motor to take off and it didn't move then slamed into gear. Now I just wait for it to shift into gear, its kid of a hard shift also?
The TCM (transmission control module) I believe, "learns" to shift as you do. You might try disconnecting the batteries for about 15 minutes and then let the engine idle with all accessories off until it warms up. Idle for one minute. Turn on your AC. Idle for one minute more. Take it for a drive for about 15 miles in varying conditions so it learns how to shift again. It may be a little jerky at first but should adjust to the way you drive. If that doesn't work, take it in.
im sorry to say but you are not the only one with this happening to the tranny i have had my truck to two dealers so far with no luck getting it fixed they say ford knows about it and is trying to give the dealers a fix for it so we wait
Mine does it on RARE occassions...
but only when I'm moving backwards and put it into drive...
you SHOULD be able to do that, but I also am just more patient with it...
and have heard of getting it fixed with either a flash or selonoid...
