Dual Tank Problems

I have an 87' F150 with dual tanks. The front tank works just fine. When i switch it to rear tank, it shows way past full. I know theres gas in there cause i tried to fill it one day. The other day, i ran on my rear tank all day and when i switched to my front tank, i noticed i was near empty. Anyone know what my problem is?

Sounds like the switching valve isn't shifting and even though the gauge is reading the rear tank, it is still pumping gas from the front tank.

My rear tanks reads empty all the time due to faulty sending unit (integrated into the internal fuel pump).
