my 97 F-350 PSd tracks slightly to the right, I need to keep the steering wheel
on an angle to go straight.
The truck has 250K on her. SHould i check tie rods? Or Steering box?
Or what?
Take it in for an alignment and have them check for bad tie rod ends and ball joints. Usually when they pull it is alignment, brake drag or a low tire.
I agree with torino, most likely something in the front end. Check you tires for wear on the edges, that will be your first clue. All else fails, there is a problem that we call tire pull. For some reason a tire "pulls". Usually only show's it's self after a rotation. Firestone doesn't consider this a warranty issue (used to work for them) but I'm not sure about other manufacturers.
Quick reference: Camber pulls, caster pushes. (see tire wear). Idler arms tend to give out before 75k, but most people never notice. Tie rods, about the same.
If it makes you feel any better, mine does the same thing. Just afraid to have someone put in on a rack. $$$$
